NC Zoo on an early spring day...

Did the Easter Bunny visit all the good boys and girls? We have had a great weekend and wanted to share some photos... especially for our loved ones far away this easter season. Our Easter weekend started at the NC zoo...remember you can click on the photos for a closer view.

Good fortune led to Scott and I being able to spend Good Friday with the boys. We have wanted to go to the zoo, so we thought this would be a perfect day. Warm spring weather, holiday weekend so less crowded... thats what we expected. Instead, super crowded after lunchtime, and over 90 degrees... but still a great day!

We left home early and got there around 9:30, started in Africa, and saw giraffes first. The weather was gorgeous, but we knew it was going to get hot.

The two bears were playing together high in the trees- it didn't seem like the trees could hold their weight and they were higher than the fences!

What we didn't plan on was Connor asking to go home as soon as it got hot! The boys took turns riding in the wagon, riding on Scott's shoulders, or walking with me.

Both boys seemed impressed with the animals, but also seemed happy just to play in the dirt in the KidsZone.

After lunch, it was getting too hot, too crowded, and too close to naptime. The animals seemed to agree that a nap seemed like a good idea!

We made a special visit to the pink flamingos for Sarah... they were napping too!

Luckily on our way out, we finally saw the zebra run by! Connor had especially been looking forward to seeing the zebra and he really got a kick out of him running around, playing with the giraffes!

Every night at bedtime, we take turns saying what our favorite part of the day is. Needless to say, the zebra won for Connor's favorite part of the day, two nights in a row...until the easter bunny came! Easter Egg Hunt and Easter Day photos to come soon, so please check back.
