This easter season brought lots of fun with family and friends and .... eggs!
Connor's egg hunt practice started with an Easter egg hunt at school with Grandpa Bobby to help him count his eggs! Then Bobby and Shirley invited the boys to the egg hunt at Rose of Sharon. Peter and his mom, Cindy, came with us and all the boys learned a little more about Easter before gathering eggs (not sure hunt was the right word). Mannix wasn't quite sure what was going on and kept trying to pick up four eggs at the same time! Egg gathering was followed by hotdog lunch, cake, and CANDY!
We colored eggs in the backyard- made a mess, but the boys seemed to enjoy it!
Easter Sunday was a beautiful sunny day, hotter than usual spring days. The Easter Bunny hid eggs filled with piggy bank money around the house and outside and left baskets filled with goodies (some candy, clothes, sunglasses and other surprises). Connor got excited right away and started gathering eggs... Mannix not so much into hunting for eggs, but crazy over chocolate! He was shoving chocolate bunnies in his mouth so fast he was eating the wrappers!
We went for early garden service at church with Sarah Stone and her family and played on the playgound. The boys had fun getting covered in pollen in their Easter best! We came home for an early nap and then Grandma Mary brought over little Easter gifts for the boys, including Sugar Eggs with scenes inside them. Then we headed to Grandma Shirley and Grandpa Bobbys for Easter lunch with the family and more egg hunting. Thanks to Aunt Peggy and Aunt Jennifer for hiding all the eggs... only 260 of them... for four kids (Connor, Mannix, Parker and Kayleigh). Kayleigh was such a big help to the younger kids, making sure they didn't miss a single egg!
Gramma and Grandpa Pat came to visit a little bit after Easter (delayed due to Pat's carpal tunnel surgery). It was a wonderful long weekend of fun, giggles, and backyard adventures!
Happy Easter everyone!
Now comes the fun with the easter candy... treats for potty training!
