Recently, Scott's sister Amanda took a new job in Honolulu at Hickam Air Force Base and moved to paradise! She fell in love with Hawaii when we were all there in December 05 for our wedding, and joked that she'd love to get a job out there. Imagine her surprise when she got offered a seemingly dream job and had to decide whether or not she could make such a big move! She decided to go for it and take a chance in paradise and moved to Honolulu in early March. Scott's mom, Marla, was able to go with her and spend several weeks there to help Amanda get settled, buy a car, and just explore the area!
Scott and I would have loved to visit, but its a bit far to travel with this huge stomach I'm carrying around these days...we are already trying to decide how soon we can travel with a baby to Hawaii! Scott's dad, Pat, couldn't resist the call of paradise and flew out to join Marla and Amanda for a long week over easter. He wanted to be sure everything was as safe and settled as could be, and also enjoy some vacation time away from the snow of Pennsylvania! They had a wonderful time together and the weather was beautiful as rainy season is ending.
They were able to go on some adventures, including a submarine tour that explored shipwrecks on the ocean floor 130 ft deep. I think we are all looking forward to visiting Amanda over the next year and she's planning to visit home in PA in July. We can't wait to see her again, but are thrilled that she is taking full advantage of this opportunity to live on her own in paradise!
